Top 3 Must-Eat Boardwalk Hits
It’s high time for a local installment here on BFB, don’t you think? (Rhetorical question … well, I guess you can answer here!)
I have the great fortune of living 90 minutes from the east coast. Also, I have the great misfortune of trying to drive to the beach with the other 4 million people living 90 minutes from the east coast.
I made it there, eventually, and felt an immediate need to share the best boardwalk eats at Rehoboth Beach with all 6 of my readers. Because I know that’s what you expect of me.
And like the milkman, who is your real father, I deliver.
There are three must-hit establishments in Rehoboth Beach and if you don’t patronize at least two of them, you didn’t really go to the beach no matter how big that wad of sand stuck inside your bathing suit crotch seam is.
I mean, really, even as an adult, I still get the sand diaper. I feel I should have grown out of this phase when I stopped laughing at the word wiener. Well, I still laugh at that word which was evident when I went to The Wiener Circle in Chicago so I guess that means I still get to have a sand diaper into my 20’s.
Joy of joys.
Ok, back to the three must-eat places in Rehoboth:

Ok, back to the three must-eat places in Rehoboth:
If you go to Rehoboth and you don’t gorge yourself on a fresh tub of carmel or cheddar (or mixed!) Fischer’s Popcorn, you are dead to me. Like you never existed. Fischer’s Popcorn is boardwalk life juice and each popped kernel will feed your soul.
2. Thrasher’s Fries
2. Thrasher’s Fries
You’ve heard the term ‘boardwalk fries’ before and you’ve supposedly had ‘boardwalk fries’ at establishments in lands far, far away from boardwalks. Lies. These are not boardwalk fries. Real boardwalk fries were invented by places like Thrasher’s where you don’t even have to salt the fries since the ambient salty ocean air tickles your palate while you munch down on these crispy yet soft, greasy stick wonders. I will give you extreme bonus points if you drown your Thrasher’s fries in malt vinegar. Like, bonus points to the moon.
3. Kohr Bros Custard
3. Kohr Bros Custard
Chocolate peanut-butter swirl, anyone? That’s right, not only is Kohr’s custard creamier than any soft-served establishment you’ve been to, they also offer a potpourri of delectable combinations including strawberry and banana, coffee and cream and the ever-popular, orange swirl (think creamsicle made from the milk of truly happy cows, perhaps cows munching on cannabis instead of normal grass and feeling like they can just ‘float’ across the pasture. Yes, think that).
So now you have three places to explore gastronomically next time you visit Rehoboth Beach and remember, if I hear you went there and didn’t eat at two of the above places, you are dead to me. And I know all 6 of my readers so I will seek you out.
You know who you are.
